Would you believe my little stinker is sick! He's been running crazy fevers, and his pediatrician and 2 oncall ped's all say not to worry unless it hits 105...Um, isn't 104 as extreme as it gets!! Aside from the fever and a stuffy nose he's fine. Took him to Dr. G anyway just to feel better, and he's all clear: no ear infection, no chest congestion, no sore throat...he's fine! Just a minor viral infection...i.e. horrible cold. Doc predicts he'll be right as rain by Thursday in perfect time for his Big Birthday Party on Saturday. I just hope he's happy and healthy no matter what!

I was a secret crybaby all day today, because I wanted so badly to be home with him. But since I lost a day yesterday, and I'm still negative in my bank, I couldn't risk the day knowing he might not go to school tomorrow (no one to watch him). Ever since Maddy was born, I created a tradition to always spend the day with my kids. When Maddy was a baby, I always took the day off, and when she got older, I let her choose, and she always opted to come to work with me. We'd go out to eat at a restaurant of her choice for either breakfast or dinner. I want to be able to do the same thing with Lincoln, and not being able to do it today, just made me so fricken sad. Anyhoo, to make up for not being home, I stopped on the way home from work to pick him up a cupcake so that we could sing to him and have him eat some cake on his actual factual birthday. He was so confused by the candle, but oh so excited when he tasted him some sugar for the first time!!
